Previously over the summer I noticed my sump pump had tripped the GFCI outlet it was plugged into, and from researching found this was a sign that the pump was going. We live near a small stream, and depending on the beaver activity the water level can be higher than normal, as was on New Years Eve. And so began my journey looking for a new sump pump. But somewhere during the night my sump pump had tripped the GFCI outlet and my basement started to flood. 2:00 AM on New Years eve and my basement is flooding……just great!
